I’m Rose, a (mostly) nonfiction cartoonist.
I grew up in Seattle and went to college in Portland. I’m a Watson Fellow, and will be spending August 2019 to August 2020 studying comics in Indonesia, Australia, Japan, and Germany.
My latest comic/senior thesis is Up the Columbia!, a 50-page graphic history of the Columbia River dams. My other work includes Yarn Doll Comics, an autobio series, and Doukhobor Comics, a history of a Russo-Canadian pacifist sect.
I hawk my minicomics at local zine fairs, Seattle and Portland comic shops, and online.
